Snow Chains and Toboggan Hire

Khancoban is nested bellow the western slopes of the Kosciuszko National Park. It doesn’t snow here, but we do get to see the majestic snowy mountains up above !!

Alpine Way is open all year round, however during snow season you must carry snow chains to excess the mountain.

Khancoban Lakeside Caravan Park makes for a great central location to access the snow fields. Furthermore, our accommodation rates are just a fraction of those you would pay up at the ski resorts. This is great news for families on a budget where fun shouldn’t come at a high cost. Take your family out on a day trip to experience the magic of Snowy Mountains and relax in our roomy self contained cabins after a big day out!

The snow covered slopes and blue skies at Thredbo, Perisher, Mt Selwyn Snowfields and Charlotte Pass offer some of the finest skiing and boarding in Australia, at levels to suit everyone from beginner to advanced.

Alpine Way is open all year, however during snow season Kosciuszko National Park regulations require all vehicles (except four wheel drives) to carry chains while traveling between June and October long weekends.

In order to assist you on your journey, we stock a large selection of V2 Traction Snow chains for hire. If you are just passing through we also offer the option of one way hire with drop off point at Jindabyne.

Toboggans are no longer allowed in NSW ski resorts, but thankfully there are few fantastic locations within the Kosciuszko National Park where a whole family can still enjoy some great toboggan fun! Just ask our office staff for tips on best locations where you can park your vehicle and enjoy hours of snow play!

Please Note: Chain Hire outside our office hours may incur a $20 call out fee. Please call us in advance if your travel time does not meet our standard hours to arrange snow chains fitment before 9am or after 6pm. Thank you
